When I was a child my mother always told me that mirrors were portals and that if you had a mirror in your room it was advisable that it was located so that you did not reflect on it while you slept, because the mirror stole energy and therefore you would not rest well. My mother telling me that instilled a fear in me that made me cover the mirror with a blanket before going to sleep to avoid reflecting on it.
