Circle of Influence is a browser-based artwork that considers the internal and external recognition of self. The artwork consists of a room with a floating circle, representing the ideal self. However, this potentially perfect circle is not static or fixed, but rather dynamic and responsive to the inputs of humans and machines via the web browser. As the user changes the browser dimensions, the circle is distorted and transformed into an oval, evolving to the surroundings; shaped by outside forces. The artwork invites the user to question the notion of perfection and the possibility of achieving it in a complex and ever-changing world. It also challenges the user to embrace the oval as a valid and authentic expression of the self, and to recognize the value of diversity and adaptation in the face of external pressures.
